What the August 12 Solar Eclipse Means for Every Rising Sign
Welcome to the cosmic intermission.
Today, August 12, 2026, we have a solar eclipse in Leo — and astrologically, this one feels less like a polite little planetary memo and more like the Universe walking into the room, turning off the lights and saying:
“Okay. Who are you when nobody can see you?”
Very Leo.
Very dramatic.
Naturally. 😂
But I don't think this eclipse needs to be frightening.
I think it can be extraordinarily hopeful.
Because eclipses don't necessarily mean something terrible is happening. They can represent moments when our normal visibility disappears. We may feel something strongly before we completely understand what it means.
And sometimes that is precisely how a new life begins.
First comes the feeling.
Then comes the understanding.
Then comes the road.

During a solar eclipse, the Moon temporarily blocks our view of the Sun.
The Sun hasn't vanished.
We simply can't see it.
That's a pretty beautiful metaphor for life.
There are moments when you cannot see where you're going.
There are moments when the identity you've lived inside no longer quite fits, while the person you're becoming hasn't fully arrived.
There are moments when something enormous is stirring inside you and you don't yet have language for it.
That doesn't necessarily mean you're lost.
You may simply be between versions of yourself.

Unfortunately, he'd already promised Phaethon anything he wanted.
Phaethon took the reins.
The horses realized immediately that Junior Management had arrived.
Chaos ensued.
The chariot went wildly off course.

❄️ Everything freezing.
Essentially:
Tuesday.
The deeper lesson isn't that ambition is bad.
The lesson is that when our need to prove ourselves becomes stronger than our self-awareness, we can hand the reins to something inside us that isn't ready to drive.
So I think there are three wonderful rules for navigating this eclipse:

Keep discovering who you are. Don't assume the person you were ten years ago gets to make every decision for the person you're becoming.
⚖️ NOTHING IN EXCESS
Passion is beautiful. Obsession is passion after three espressos and no adult supervision.

Certainty can become its own blind spot.
You don't have to know exactly where you're going today.
