🐾 The Nomadic Pet Sitting Project🐾
Tré Taylor — The Fairy Pet Mother. Trusted, referral-based pet & house sitting woven into a life of slow travel, creativity, and care. • tretaylor.com
“I was so happy when a neighbor recommended Tré to me to care for my older dog Akira in my home when I traveled internationally. I needed someone I could trust that was attuned to Akira’s medical needs and who would provide loving snuggles as well.
I also had a new home we had just built and needed someone who I could trust to care for it. Tré exceeded my expectations on both counts; Akira loved her, and my home was spotless on my return. I recommend her without hesitation!”
Trusted care for beloved animals, homes, and gardens
Some of the most meaningful chapters of my life have unfolded quietly in other people’s homes—sitting beside a sleeping dog, watering a garden at sunset, or sharing peaceful mornings with a curious cat who has decided we are now best friends.
For more than twenty years, friends and families have trusted me to care for their animals and homes. What began as something I did for people I loved gradually grew into a small but deeply meaningful part of my life.
Today, that work has evolved into what I call the Nomadic Pet Sitting Project—a lifestyle built around trust, care, slow travel, and creative living.
It’s not a traditional business.
It’s a thoughtful way of living.
🌿 A Different Kind of Lifestyle
After decades of working hard and moving quickly through life, I chose a slower path.
I downsized my belongings, embraced a simpler lifestyle, and began traveling more intentionally—spending time in communities that value creativity, nature, kindness, and connection.
Pet sitting became a natural part of that journey.
Caring for animals allows me to experience a place the way locals do — walking neighborhood streets, visiting cafés, tending gardens, and becoming part of the quiet rhythm of a home.
For someone who writes, cooks, gardens, and creates, it’s one of the most beautiful ways to experience the world.
🐶 The Heart of the Work: Animals
Animals understand kindness instantly.
They don’t care about titles, resumes, or social media.
They care about presence, patience, and trust.
Over the years I’ve cared for:
🐾 dogs of every personality
🐾 cats who run the household (as cats do)
🐾 chickens and backyard flocks
🐾 small animals and garden companions
Most of my pet-sitting relationships last for years, sometimes decades. Watching animals grow old with the families who love them is one of life’s quiet privileges.

🔒 By Referral Only
Because I travel independently and value safety for everyone involved, I accept pet sitting invitations primarily through referrals and trusted introductions.
This approach has served me well for many years.
It allows both the homeowner and the sitter to feel comfortable and confident before any arrangement is made.
Before accepting a new sit, I always prefer:
• a brief Zoom or phone conversation
• a clear understanding of the home and animal routines
• mutual comfort and trust
Good pet sitting relationships are built on respect — for the animals, the home, and each other.
🌎 A Quietly Nomadic Life
My home base remains in the San Francisco Bay Area, where many of my longtime clients live.
From time to time, I also spend short periods traveling and exploring other communities where I may someday plant roots.
These visits are usually connected to creative projects, writing, or time spent with friends and fellow artists.
Occasionally, trusted referrals lead to pet sitting opportunities in those areas as well.
🌸 Creativity Along the Way
While caring for animals and homes, I also spend time working on a number of creative projects.
These include:
🍲 writing about food and cooking
🌿 gardening and sustainable living
🎶 music and storytelling
🎭 a little experimental comedy
📖 travel writing and community stories
Sometimes these projects overlap in unexpected ways.
A garden becomes a story.
A dinner becomes a gathering.
A quiet neighborhood café becomes the place where the next idea begins.
This is part of what makes the Nomadic Pet Sitting Project so meaningful to me.
It’s a life that leaves room for curiosity, creativity, and connection.
🏡 A Note About Trust
When someone invites a pet sitter into their home, they’re offering something deeply personal.
I take that responsibility very seriously.
My goal is simple:
To leave every home and every animal happy, calm, and well cared for.

🌿 If You’ve Been Referred
If you’ve arrived here through a friend or trusted introduction and would like to inquire about future availability, you’re welcome to reach out.
I’m always happy to meet new animals and the people who love them.
Because the project is intentionally small and referral-based, availability is limited — but wonderful connections do happen.
With gratitude, kindness, and a little sparkle,

FIVE-STAR RECOMMENDATIONS!
“Since finding Tré to stay in my home with Malcolm, I look forward to leaving for the first time. Even though I love my boyfriend, I don’t think about him at all when I’m away.
That is the BEST compliment I could possibly give to Tré the pet sitter extraordinaire. Even though Malcolm loves when I return, I know he misses Tré when she’s gone.
I find myself thinking of trips that I can take just so Tré can stay with Malcolm again!”
