āI was so happy when a neighbor recommended TrĆ© to me to care for my older dog Akira in my home when I traveled internationally. I needed someone I could trust that was attuned to Akiraās medical needs and who would provide loving snuggles as well.
I also had a new home we had just built and needed someone who I could trust to care for it. TrĆ© exceeded my expectations on both counts; Akira loved her, and my home was spotless on my return. I recommend her without hesitation!ā
Trusted care for beloved animals, homes, and gardens
Some of the most meaningful chapters of my life have unfolded quietly in other peopleās homesāsitting beside a sleeping dog, watering a garden at sunset, or sharing peaceful mornings with a curious cat who has decided we are now best friends.
For more than twenty years, friends and families have trusted me to care for their animals and homes. What began as something I did for people I loved gradually grew into a small but deeply meaningful part of my life.
Today, that work has evolved into what I call the Nomadic Pet Sitting Projectāa lifestyle built around trust, care, slow travel, and creative living.
Itās not a traditional business.
Itās a thoughtful way of living.
šæ A Different Kind of Lifestyle
After decades of working hard and moving quickly through life, I chose a slower path.
I downsized my belongings, embraced a simpler lifestyle, and began traveling more intentionallyāspending time in communities that value creativity, nature, kindness, and connection.
Pet sitting became a natural part of that journey.
Caring for animals allows me to experience a place the way locals do ā walking neighborhood streets, visiting cafĆ©s, tending gardens, and becoming part of the quiet rhythm of a home.
For someone who writes, cooks, gardens, and creates, itās one of the most beautiful ways to experience the world.
š¶ The Heart of the Work: Animals
Animals understand kindness instantly.
They donāt care about titles, resumes, or social media.
They care about presence, patience, and trust.
Over the years Iāve cared for:
š¾ dogs of every personality
š¾ cats who run the household (as cats do)
š¾ chickens and backyard flocks
š¾ small animals and garden companions
Most of my pet-sitting relationships last for years, sometimes decades. Watching animals grow old with the families who love them is one of lifeās quiet privileges.

š By Referral Only
Because I travel independently and value safety for everyone involved, I accept pet sitting invitations primarily through referrals and trusted introductions.
This approach has served me well for many years.
It allows both the homeowner and the sitter to feel comfortable and confident before any arrangement is made.
Before accepting a new sit, I always prefer:
⢠a brief Zoom or phone conversation
⢠a clear understanding of the home and animal routines
⢠mutual comfort and trust
Good pet sitting relationships are built on respect ā for the animals, the home, and each other.
š A Quietly Nomadic Life
My home base remains in the San Francisco Bay Area, where many of my longtime clients live.
From time to time, I also spend short periods traveling and exploring other communities where I may someday plant roots.
These visits are usually connected to creative projects, writing, or time spent with friends and fellow artists.
Occasionally, trusted referrals lead to pet sitting opportunities in those areas as well.
šø Creativity Along the Way
While caring for animals and homes, I also spend time working on a number of creative projects.
These include:
š² writing about food and cooking
šæ gardening and sustainable living
š¶ music and storytelling
š a little experimental comedy
š travel writing and community stories
Sometimes these projects overlap in unexpected ways.
A garden becomes a story.
A dinner becomes a gathering.
A quiet neighborhood cafƩ becomes the place where the next idea begins.
This is part of what makes the Nomadic Pet Sitting Project so meaningful to me.
Itās a life that leaves room for curiosity, creativity, and connection.
š” A Note About Trust
When someone invites a pet sitter into their home, theyāre offering something deeply personal.
I take that responsibility very seriously.
My goal is simple:
To leave every home and every animal happy, calm, and well cared for.
Many of the kind words shared by past clients can be found in my reference page here:

šæ If Youāve Been Referred
If youāve arrived here through a friend or trusted introduction and would like to inquire about future availability, youāre welcome to reach out.
Iām always happy to meet new animals and the people who love them.
Because the project is intentionally small and referral-based, availability is limited ā but wonderful connections do happen.
With gratitude, kindness, and a little sparkle,

FIVE-STAR RECOMMENDATIONS!
āāWe have had TrĆ© take care of our home and dogs many times over the years. She takes the best care of them!
I know they will be well-loved while we are gone, our home will be tidy, and many times a surprise tasty treat awaits when we return!
So many good experiences, thank you TrĆ©!āā
āSince finding TrĆ© to stay in my home with Malcolm, I look forward to leaving for the first time. Even though I love my boyfriend, I donāt think about him at all when Iām away.
That is the BEST compliment I could possibly give to TrĆ© the pet sitter extraordinaire. Even though Malcolm loves when I return, I know he misses TrĆ© when sheās gone.
I find myself thinking of trips that I can take just so TrĆ© can stay with Malcolm again!ā

āI recommend Treā Taylor as the best pet and house sitter the Bay Area has ever known. I lived in the back of a house where she came to pet sit an older dog.
When I would come back from work and enter the main house, Treā would be sitting with a clean, happy, full, contented and smiling dog that just looked like the dog was in heaven with his new best friend.
The house was clean and organized, better than the home owners had left it, and Treā just had everything handled to perfection.
Treā and I became fast friends which is going on more than seventeen years. On several occasions, I had the pleasure to stop in on Treās pet sitting jobs and every time was the same.
A clean and organized home. Beyond happy and contented pets, be it cats or dogs, or birds, or any animal for that matter. I trust Treā implicitly and highly recommend her for pet sitting or also house sitting. She is simply the best!ā
