Welcome to Desserts, Treats & Snacks – the sacred stash of joy.
From My Nomad Kitchen…
Every great movie night, road trip, picnic, or drive-in adventure begins with the same question: what snacks did you bring? Around here, snacks aren’t an afterthought—they’re a love language. I’m Tré Taylor, and I’ve spent decades making sure there’s always something sweet, crunchy, or creamy within arm’s reach.
Bleep, of course, is the true mastermind. His obsessions run deep: caramel corn (preferably laced with bacon), ice cream that melts too fast to photograph, holiday treats that disappear before they hit the table, and just about anything you can sneak into a movie theater without guilt. He believes snacks are science—and honestly, he’s right.
These recipes and ideas are built for sharing, traveling, celebrating, and indulging. From healthy, make-ahead road trip fuel to decadent desserts that silence the room, you’ll find inspiration here to satisfy cravings without ever feeling deprived. Comfort, joy, and a little mischief in every bite.

🍓Summer Strawberry Profiteroles with Vanilla Ice Cream & Chocolate Ganache
SEO Summary
🍓🇫🇷✨
Every once in a while a recipe surprises you.
This week in The Nomad Kitchen, I finally tackled one of my culinary bucket-list recipes: classic French pâte à choux pastry. To my delight, the profiteroles emerged from the oven perfectly golden, light, airy, crisp, and beautifully hollow inside—everything a French pastry should be.
For my very first creation, I couldn't resist transforming those delicate pastry shells into an elegant summer dessert. Filled with creamy vanilla ice cream, layered with fresh California strawberries, and draped in rich chocolate ganache, this Strawberry Shortcake Profiterole became one of the most delicious desserts I've ever made.
What I love most about this recipe is its simplicity. A humble French pastry shell becomes the perfect vessel for endless creativity. Whether filled with ice cream, pastry cream, whipped cream, fresh berries, or seasonal fruits, every profiterole becomes its own little masterpiece.
This beautiful dessert marks the beginning of The Nomad Kitchen French Pastry Series, and I have a feeling we're just getting started.

🍓Fresh Homemade Strawberry Ice Cream
🍓 SEO SUMMARY
Fresh homemade strawberry ice cream has always tasted like summer to me.
Recently, I visited Chao's Strawberry Farm in Brentwood, California, where families spend the day picking sun-ripened strawberries straight from the field. Walking through the rows of berries brought back wonderful childhood memories of visiting my grandmother and spending summers with my aunts and uncles. Every year, strawberry season meant homemade ice cream, fresh berries, laughter, and gathering around the table together.
There's something special about picking your own food. You gain a deeper appreciation for the farmers who grow it, the land it comes from, and the simple joy of creating something delicious with your own hands. Even more rewarding is growing it yourself, something I hope to be doing very soon.
This easy homemade strawberry ice cream recipe combines fresh-picked strawberries, cream, vanilla, and a little patience to create a rich, old-fashioned summer dessert the whole family will love. Whether you're making waffle cones, ice cream sandwiches, popsicles, or simply enjoying a scoop in a bowl, this recipe celebrates the sweet flavors of the season and the memories that come with them.
Visit local farms whenever possible, support local agriculture, and create delicious memories with the people you love.

🌺 Chocolate Chip Peanut Butter Oatmeal Ice Cream Sandwiches
The Big Kahuna Crunchwich is a decadent homemade ice cream sandwich made with chocolate chip, peanut butter, and oatmeal cookies layered with rich chocolate fudge ice cream—born from a spontaneous Nomad Kitchen moment in San Francisco. Supervised by one very discerning (and very adorable) canine, this dessert was lovingly created as a welcome-home treat for traveling friends.
Important note: while the Big Kahuna gave his full approval as quality control manager, no dogs were harmed or fed chocolate in the making of this dessert—because chocolate is unsafe for dogs. This indulgent treat is strictly for humans, though it was crafted with plenty of love from a very proud “fairy pet mother” and her four-legged supervisor.
A perfect blend of sweet, salty, crunchy, and creamy, these ice cream sandwiches capture the magic of creative baking, cozy kitchens, and thoughtful homecomings.
