Every life is a collection of chapters, and mine has certainly taken some unexpected turns.
Throughout the years, I have worn many hats: performer, entrepreneur, coach, writer, singer, storyteller, traveler, and lifelong student of personal transformation. Like many people, I have experienced seasons of great success, profound loss, remarkable healing, and complete reinvention.
In 2019, award-winning writer Jean Bartlett documented my story during a pivotal period in my life. After losing over 175 pounds and recovering from bilateral knee replacement surgery, I was entering a new chapter filled with optimism, gratitude, and possibility. I was reclaiming my health, swimming daily, rebuilding my strength, and embracing life with renewed enthusiasm.
At the time, it felt like the beginning of something entirely new.
Then the world changed.
The years that followed brought challenges none of us could have anticipated. The COVID-19 pandemic altered the course of life for nearly everyone, including me. What began as a temporary experiment in simple living gradually evolved into a nomadic lifestyle that continues to shape my journey today.
Living and traveling in my van throughout the American West taught me lessons I could never have learned any other way. It stripped away distractions, simplified priorities, deepened my gratitude, and encouraged me to rediscover what truly matters. Along the way, I continued creating music, writing stories, developing recipes, sharing adventures, exploring personal growth, and building the creative life I enjoy today.
What I find most fascinating about Jean's biography is that it captures a moment in time—a snapshot of who I was before the next great adventure began. Reading it now reminds me that life is never a straight line. Sometimes the paths we never planned become the journeys that transform us most.
Today, my work continues through writing, music, food, storytelling, humor, personal transformation, and the ongoing adventure of living creatively and authentically.
