The Perfect Biscuit for Every Table

☀️

"Some recipes don't need to be fancy. They just need to make the whole kitchen smell like home."

There’s something magical about homemade biscuits. They're simple, comforting, and somehow make an ordinary breakfast feel like a celebration.

Warm from the oven, brushed with melted butter, and ready for honey, jam, gravy, or a perfectly fried egg... they're the kind of recipe you'll find yourself making again and again.

The best part? These buttery biscuits come together with everyday pantry ingredients and are surprisingly easy—even if you've never made biscuits before.

As for Bleep the Tattoo... let's just say he firmly believes every biscuit deserves an outrageous amount of honey butter. I can't honestly say he's wrong. 🐝🍯

Whether you're serving breakfast for family, planning a cozy Sunday brunch, or simply craving something warm from the oven, these flaky biscuits are the perfect place to begin.

🥣 Ingredients

✨ 2 cups all-purpose flour

✨ 1 tablespoon baking powder

✨ ½ teaspoon baking soda

✨ 1 teaspoon salt

🧈 6 tablespoons cold butter, cut into small cubes

🥛 ¾ cup cold half-and-half (add a splash more if needed)

🧈 Melted butter for brushing the tops

👩‍🍳 Directions

1️⃣ Preheat

Preheat your oven to 425°F (220°C).

2️⃣ Mix the Dry Ingredients

In a large bowl, whisk together:

• Flour

• Baking powder

• Baking soda

• Salt

3️⃣ Cut in the Butter

Add the cold butter and work it into the flour with your fingertips, a pastry cutter, or two forks until the mixture resembles coarse crumbs.

Small pieces of butter are exactly what create those beautiful flaky layers.

4️⃣ Add the Half-and-Half

Pour in the cold half-and-half.

Gently stir just until the dough comes together.

Don't overmix.

5️⃣ Fold for Flaky Layers

Turn the dough onto a lightly floured surface.

Pat into a rectangle about ¾-inch thick.

Fold it over itself 2–3 times, then gently pat it back out.

This simple step creates beautiful bakery-style layers.

6️⃣ Cut the Biscuits

Use a biscuit cutter or even the rim of a drinking glass.

Press straight down—don't twist.

Twisting seals the edges and keeps biscuits from rising as high.

7️⃣ Bake

Place biscuits so they're just touching on a baking sheet for soft sides, or space them apart for crispier edges.

Bake for 12–15 minutes, or until beautifully golden brown.

Brush immediately with melted butter.
