A Little Story From The Nomad Kitchen
Some recipes are classics for a reason.
Ranch dressing has been an American favorite for generations, showing up at backyard barbecues, family dinners, pizza nights, and potlucks across the country. But once you've tasted ranch made from scratch with fresh herbs and roasted garlic, it's hard to go back to the bottled version.
This recipe was inspired by California’s Gilroy Garlic Country and the legendary garlic-growing region of Gilroy, where garlic has been celebrated for decades and where food lovers gather to honor one of the most flavorful ingredients in the kitchen.
Roasting garlic transforms it completely. The sharp bite disappears and is replaced by a sweet, buttery richness that melts beautifully into creamy ranch dressing. Combined with fresh chives, parsley, dill, and tangy buttermilk, the result is a ranch dressing that's bright, savory, herbaceous, and absolutely irresistible.
Whether you're drizzling it over a salad, dipping vegetables, dressing a burger, or sneaking spoonfuls straight from the jar, this homemade ranch proves that simple ingredients can create extraordinary flavor.
Pour it into a mason jar and keep it in the refrigerator. It won't last long.

Nomad Kitchen Tip
One of the easiest ways to make homemade Gilroy Roasted Garlic Ranch Dressing is with a small countertop food processor. While you can certainly mince everything by hand with a sharp knife, a compact food chopper makes quick work of roasted garlic, fresh herbs, and seasonings, creating a silky, restaurant-quality dressing in just minutes.
Simply give the herbs a rough chop, add everything to the processor, and blend until smooth and creamy. For small-batch sauces, dressings, aioli, pesto, and condiments, a mini food processor quickly becomes one of the most useful tools in the Nomad Kitchen.
Rest And Chill
Transfer to a mason jar.
Refrigerate for at least 30 minutes.
Serve chilled.
The flavor becomes even better after several hours in the refrigerator.
