🍪 A Little Cookie Magic for Halloween 🧡
This year, Halloween feels a little different.
My heart has been carrying some sadness, and like so many people this season, I’ve been reminded how precious life is and how deeply we love the people we love. So instead of doing something huge, I decided to make something joyful.
Enter: Halloween Monster Cookies.
These delicious, cheerful little cookie pirates are packed with oats, peanut butter, chocolate chips, Halloween sprinkles, colorful candies, and googly candy eyes. They’re sweet, playful, and just ridiculous enough to make people smile — which is exactly the kind of magic I wanted this year.
Bleep the Tattoo and I are calling them Monster Cookie Pirates, because obviously we are dressed for the occasion. 🏴☠️
If you need a cozy, easy, crowd-pleasing Halloween cookie recipe, this is it.

Total Time
🎃 About 35–40 minutes
Ingredients 🧡
Dry Ingredients
1 cup all-purpose flour
1 teaspoon baking soda
1/2 teaspoon salt
1 1/2 cups old-fashioned rolled oats
Wet Ingredients
1/2 cup unsalted butter, softened
1/2 cup creamy peanut butter
1/2 cup granulated sugar
1/2 cup packed brown sugar
2 large eggs
1 teaspoon vanilla extract
Mix-Ins
1 cup semi-sweet chocolate chips
3/4 cup candy-coated chocolates (Halloween colors if possible)
1/3 cup orange, black, and white jimmies sprinkles
24–48 candy eyeballs (2–3 per cookie, or more if you like your monsters extra observant!)
Instructions ✨
1. Preheat the oven
Preheat your oven to 350°F. Line 2 baking sheets with parchment paper.
2. Mix the dry ingredients
In a medium bowl, whisk together:
flour
baking soda
salt
Stir in the rolled oats and set aside.
3. Cream the butter, peanut butter, and sugars
In a large bowl, beat together:
softened butter
peanut butter
granulated sugar
brown sugar
Mix until light and fluffy.
4. Add eggs and vanilla
Beat in the eggs one at a time, then add the vanilla extract.
5. Combine wet and dry
Add the dry ingredients to the wet mixture and stir until just combined.
6. Fold in the goodies
Gently fold in:
chocolate chips
candy-coated chocolates
most of the sprinkles
Save a few sprinkles and candy eyes for topping the cookies before baking.
7. Scoop the dough
Using a cookie scoop or spoon, place dough onto the prepared baking sheets, leaving a little room between cookies.
Top each cookie with:
extra sprinkles
2–3 candy eyes
a few extra chocolate chips or candies if you want them extra cute
8. Bake
Bake for 10–12 minutes, or until the edges are lightly golden and the centers still look a little soft.
9. Cool
Let the cookies cool on the baking sheet for 5 minutes, then transfer to a wire rack.
Try not to eat half the batch while they’re still warm.
Baker’s Notes 💋
For extra cute cookies: Press the candy eyes into the tops right before baking. If any eyes shift, gently nudge them back into place while the cookies are still warm.
Want them thicker? Chill the dough for 20–30 minutes before baking.
Love more crunch? Add a few chopped peanuts.
Need more Halloween drama? Sprinkle with extra orange, black, and white jimmies as soon as they come out of the oven.
